About Us

Our club received our C.T.C.I. national charter ID (# 39) in 1972. Our purpose is to enhance the experience of owning a two-seater Thunderbird by participating in area events, meeting others with similar interests, and sharing information and knowledge.

Beginning in January 2005, our club began utilizing e-mail as our primary communication tool. If you cannot provide an email address, we will attempt to contact you by phone to notify you of upcoming events. Throughout the year, events such as day trips, participating in swap meets, or attending area car shows, are suggested by the members and coordinated by the officers. At this time, we are a relatively small club but we are working to increase our membership, participation in area events, and day trips around the Austin area.

Membership requirements: Membership is open to anyone who owns or is interested in the early model Thunderbirds. The Austin Thunderbird Owners annual club dues are $20.00 per family. Membership in the Classic Thunderbird Club International (CTCI) is required. CTCI dues are $35.00 per year with a one-time initiation fee of $15.00. CTCI membership includes a subscription to The Early Bird magazine, published bi-monthly.
