(3) Third Tuesday of every month - Stompin Grounds Cruise-in. Stompin Grounds Bar and Grill is starting a Classics and Rods Cruise-in on the Third Tuesday of every month. Stompin Grounds Bar and Grill 9112 Anderson Mill Road.  6:00 to 9:00 pm.

*Saturday March 9 Fayetteville has Market Day on the Square the second Saturday of each month.  Here’s what Deborah proposes:

Austin area members will meet in Manor, where you did for the Brenham trip. Plan to depart Cafe 290 at 9:30 a.m.  Take Hwy 290 E to Giddings where Rock and I will meet you at the Buckee’s Exxon, just E. of town. (It’s about 42 miles from Manor to Giddings, so some may need a pit stop.)  We’ll continue east on Hwy 290 to Lebetter where we will turn onto FM 1291, which will take us into Fayetteville (It’s about 30 miles from Giddings to Fayetteville.)   We should arrive in Fayetteville a little after 11 AM, depending on how much time is spent at the “pit stop” in Giddings.  We can spend 1 – 2 hours browsing and shopping, then we’ll head towards La Grange.  It’s only 12 miles from Fayetteville to our house, where we will have lunch and visit until folks are ready to return to Austin.  From our house to SE Austin (Del Valle), via Hwy 71, is about 58 miles.

ATO Luncheon Oasis June 4th, 2011

The weather was perfect (albeit a little warm), the cars are beautiful, the view and food was great, and the club camaraderie is always enjoyable.

Of course, I am speaking of Saturday’s outing for brunch at the Oasis Restaurant by members of the ATO and the CCTC. Everyone arrived on time

to the preferred parking lot in front of the restaurant. There were 23 members in attendance driving 16 TBirds. Also, members Warren & Lisa Kodowsky

brought  4 guests along with their 3 Amphibicars. Those rare aquatic cars fit right in with our TBirds. It was ideal viewing by many of the patrons of the restaurant. (I never stop enjoying the ogling and the questions about the cars and the general conversation

After a delightful brunch, Warren & Lisa and their friends offered water rides in the Amphibicars on nearby Lake Austin in Steiner Ranch. Carole Mills, Gerard Rickey and myself took them up on the offer. We had a ball riding the cars off of the boat ramp into the water. What a experience…it was a blast! Thank you Warren & Lisa.

Gerard Rickey was the unofficial photographer of the day and took some great pictures with captions !…see the photo album below.

Also, a special thank you goes to Guy Saunders for coordinating this event and arranging everything.

The 23 clubs’ attendees were:

Warren & Lisa Kodowsky

Ron & Kim Sellers

Gerard Rickey

Rick & Carol Rosa

Merlin & Johanna Hoiseth

Mike & Doris Miller

Sid & Sharon Sokol

Carole Mills

Guy Saunders

John Shriver

Bob Novit

Joe & Bonnie Lowe

Royce & Diana Richman

Buddy & Doris Cox

Thanks to all of you for making today a true success. As usual, it was a lot of fun.
